The global 6G development alliance initiated by Qualcomm has attracted major tech corporations including Google, Meta, Microsoft, and Samsung, with three Vietnamese representatives: FPT, Viettel, and VNG. This alliance aims to validate systems and demonstrate devices by 2028, with the official commercialization of 6G technology planned for 2029. This new generation of technology is defined as an AI-native platform that integrates connectivity, wide-area sensing, and high-performance computing. Trương Gia Bình, Chairman of FPT, emphasized that joining this alliance will help improve FPT’s ability to leverage advanced technologies to create practical value, especially in smart transportation and digital manufacturing. Qualcomm’s CEO Cristiano Amon stated that 6G is not just the next technology but a foundation for an AI-native future. Viettel and VNG also contribute to completing Vietnam’s digital infrastructure, enhancing R&D collaboration for 6G technology.
