Vingroup earns nearly 1.8 trillion VND from selling Movian AI to Qualcomm, accounting for 16% of pre-tax profit in the first half of 2025

In the 2025 mid-year financial report, Vingroup recorded a profit of 1.765 trillion VND from transferring 65% ownership of Movian AI to Qualcomm, with a total transfer fee of 1.684 trillion VND. After this transaction, Vingroup no longer controls Movian AI, which has a charter capital of 226.766 billion VND. Additionally, in April 2025, Vingroup also transferred 100% ownership of Lighthouse 2 with a profit of 391 billion VND. At the annual shareholder meeting, Chairman Pham Nhat Vuong stated that the reason for divesting was to attract foreign investment and develop technology in Vietnam. Vingroup established a 150 million USD investment fund to promote technology projects. Cumulative revenue in the first half of 2025 reached 130.476 trillion VND, doubling from the previous year, with a pre-tax profit of 11.159 trillion VND, up 69%.
