On December 2, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son signed a decision approving a list of important projects in the energy sector, including Vingroup’s LNG Hai Phong Thermal Power Plant, with a total investment of 178 trillion VND. The plant has a capacity of 4,800 MW and will be built on an area of nearly 100 hectares, expected to be completed by the end of 2030. Estimated electricity output will reach 9.6 billion kWh/year in phase 1 and 19.2 billion kWh/year in phase 2, serving not only the industrial park but also supporting the national power grid. This project is part of clean energy, helping to reduce environmental pollution emissions and contribute to sustainable economic development in Vietnam.
