Vitalik Buterin announced improvements in Ethereum’s architecture, including ZK-EVM entering production-ready alpha and PeerDAS launching on the mainnet. These developments are set to enhance the network’s bandwidth and decentralization, addressing the blockchain trilemma.
Looking ahead to 2026 and beyond, gas caps for non-ZK-EVM nodes will increase, and ZK-EVM nodes will emerge. It is expected that between 2027 and 2030, ZK-EVM will become crucial for block verification while distributed block construction aims to combat centralization risks.
