Mr. Doan Van Hieu Em, General Director of MWG, shared the 21st anniversary of the company with ambitions to capture 70-80% of the retail market by 2030. As of May, MWG recorded revenues of 61,229 billion VND, a 13% increase from the previous year, aiming to complete its annual plan by October.
The Thế Giới Di Động and Điện Máy Xanh chains contributed nearly 41,000 billion VND, while Bách Hóa Xanh achieved nearly 18,900 billion VND, up 19%. Additionally, MWG opened 410 new Bách Hóa Xanh stores, bringing the total to 2,180. MWG is also expanding in the Indonesian market with 107 EraBlue stores, targeting 500 openings by 2027.
Forecasts from Vietcombank Securities suggest that Bách Hóa Xanh will achieve quarterly net profits of 120 billion VND, stimulating MWG’s growth. The direct tax policy on e-commerce platforms presents opportunities for MWG to expand its online presence and improve net margins while reducing depreciation cost pressures, saving 900 billion VND by 2025.
