Zelenskyy accused of blocking Ukraine’s crypto bill as Rada halts consideration

The Ukrainian parliament has halted its consideration of a significant crypto draft law designed to regulate taxation in the cryptocurrency sector. President Zelenskyy’s office allegedly blocked the bill due to external pressure, which critics claim hampers the nation’s economic progress amid the war.

Critics, including lawmaker Yaroslav Zheleznyak, suggest that the blocking of the bill is counterproductive for Ukraine’s revenue and Web3 development. The head of the National Securities and Stock Market Commission raised issues about conformity with EU regulations, complicating Ukraine’s path to effective crypto legislation.
