An Khang Closes All Outlets in Hanoi: Where is the ‘Dream’ of Opening 2,000 Pharmacies by Mobile World?

An Khang pharmacy chain, part of Mobile World Investment Corporation (MWG), has ceased operations in Hanoi, removing its branches from the website. Currently, it has only 326 stores, mainly in Ho Chi Minh City. Although there was an ambitious plan to open 2,000 outlets by the end of 2023, it managed only 527 stores in 2023. The financial situation has worsened, with cumulative losses exceeding 1,033 billion VND from 2022 to Q1 2025. MWG is restructuring, reducing the number of pharmacies, and seeking more effective operating methods to adapt to post-Covid market conditions. At the shareholders’ meeting, MWG leaders affirmed their commitment to continue the development strategy for An Khang despite current challenges.
