Vinhomes, Vietnam Airlines, Novaland, Gelex Stocks Surge

In the trading session on May 21, the stock market saw strong divergence. While the VN-Index remained positive, stocks like Vinhomes (VHM), Vietnam Airlines (HVN), Novaland (NVL), and Gelex (GEX) led in growth. VHM continued to hit the ceiling price, reaching 67,300 VND/share, with a market capitalization of 276 trillion VND, solidifying its position as the largest real estate company on the exchange. HVN also surged to 36,450 VND/share, nearing its historical peak from 2018, following the approval of a plan to issue 900 million shares to shareholders at 10,000 VND/share to reduce debt. NVL rebounded but remained below its 2021 peak, with a market cap of 25 trillion VND, and plans to issue debt swap shares. Finally, GEX saw a significant increase to 32,500 VND/share, close to its historical high. Since the beginning of the year, GEX has increased by 82%, indicating strong growth in the sector.
